Prabowo: Islam is a Religion of Peace, Let’s Unite for Global Harmony

Jakarta, VIVA – Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto has called on all Islamic countries to be a force for global peace, emphasizing that the essence of Islam is love and compassion.
Speaking during the opening of the 19th Session of the Conference of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States (PUIC) at the House of Representatives in Senayan, Jakarta, on Wednesday (May 14).
The head of state stressed the peaceful nature of Islamic teachings.
“Islam is a religion of peace. The core of Islamic teaching is love and compassion. This is the essence of our faith, and it is a legacy we must revive in a world that has lost its way,” the president stated.

While advocating for peace, Prabowo also warned against weakness. He emphasized that nations perceived as weak are vulnerable to exploitation.
“Even though we desire peace, if we are weak, there are those who may try to dominate us again, to treat us like pawns, like slaves, like servants,” the head of state asserted.
Therefore, the President urged all Islamic countries to stand united, believing that unity is the key to resisting those who oppose peace.
“Let us unite and rekindle the spirit of our great leaders. Let us prove that Islam is a blessing for all humanity. Let us overcome our differences and move forward in unity,” President Prabowo concluded.
