VIVA – After the death of Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Charles as the first child of the queen become the new British Monarch. King Charles III took a long time to become king, at the age of 73 years.
King Charles III officially became king on September 8, 2022. He become the longest-serving crown prince in the history of the United Kingdom and holds the title of Prince of Wales for the longest.
Here are some facts about King Charles III as the new king of Great Britain.
1. The Third King of England to Use the Name 'King Charles'

The ruler of England under the name King Charles began with King Charles I who succeeded his father James I in 1625 as King of England and Scotland.
Then followed by King Charles II who was king of Great Britain and Ireland from 1660 until he died in 1685. It was only in 2022 that King Charles III replaces his mother, Queen Elizabeth II.
2. Oldest Heir to the Throne

The new King was born on November 14, 1948, and was already 73 years old. Before being proclaimed the new king of England, Charles was the longest-serving heir to the throne and the oldest monarch to receive his ascension to the throne.
3. King Charles III Once Built City
Charles once built a town called Poundbury. The city of Poundbury is the name of a city located in Dorchester, England.
Charles wanted the city to be a blend of traditional architecture and modern urban planning because he has a long history of interest in urban planning and development.
4. First Divorced Heir to the Throne

Charles became the first heir to the throne to be divorced. As known, his marriage to Princess Diana Spencer ended in 1996. Then a year later, Princess Diana died in a car crash in Paris.
As a result, Prince Charles was exempted from restrictions on remarriage by the Church of England, although Camilla Parker Bowles and Prince Charles were legally married in 2005 after the law was set in 2002.
