King Charles III officially became king on September 8, 2022. He become the longest-serving crown prince in the history of the United Kingdom and holds the title of Prince of Wales for the longest.

The ruler of England under the name King Charles began with King Charles I who succeeded his father James I in 1625 as King of England and Scotland.

Charles became the first heir to the throne to be divorced. As known, his marriage to Princess Diana Spencer ended in 1996. Then a year later, Princess Diana died in a car crash in Paris.
