An Unopened First-Generation iPhone Could Be Sold at High Price

VIVA – The first generation of iPhone – released in 2007 – potentially sold for US$50,000 or IDR 748 million. It was started by American Tattoo artist, Karen Green, who was gifted the 8 GB version of the phone and never broke the seal and is set to make bank by auctioning the tech relic.

Originally, this iPhone was on sale for $499 or IDR 7,5 million with a 3.5-inch screen with a 2-megapixel camera, 4 GB and 8 GB storage options, and internet connectivity on a 2G network.

Last year, another unopened first-generation iPhone was auctioned off for US$29,229 or IDR 596 million. Now, LCG Auction has listed green’s phone, with the bidding opening at $2,500 or IDR 37,9 million.

Meanwhile, the previous phone sold for over 75 times its original IDR 4,8 million. Apple enthusiasts with cash to spare will have until February 19 to bid on the precious piece of tech history. The first generation iPhone was the model originally revealed by Apple co-founder Steve Jobs in 2007.
