NASA Responds the Doomsday Signs, Here's to Know

Jakarta – Some time ago, a viral upload on Facebook said the sun rose from the West. Regarding this, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) of the United States (US) also gave its respond. 

In the upload, NASA stated that the Sun will rise from the West due to the Earth's rotation in the opposite direction.

"NASA confirms the possibility of the sun rising from the west. The Earth rotates in the opposite direction which causes the sun to rise from the west side!!!" read the article on Wednesday. 

"Researchers believe that we are moving in the opposite direction of the magnetic field which will lead us to the end of humanity and closer to the apocalypse," he added. 

In response to this post, NASA said it had never issued a prediction about the claim. 

"Neither NASA nor any other scientific organization has ever predicted the sun will rise from the west," said Bettina Inclan, NASA Associate Administrator for Communications. 

Inclan said the phenomenon of magnetic reversal is true and real, and several scientists have even studied it. This phenomenon is found on Earth's neighboring planet Venus, which rotates in a reverse direction.

While Venus rotates for a long time, 243 days, the planet's time around the Sun is equivalent to 225 days on Earth. This means that the Sun will be visible on the surface of Venus only twice a year, or once in 117 days.
