The U-17 World Cup Stadium Ready to Use After Renovation

Jakarta – Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono revealed that all stadium preparations for the 2023 U-17 World Cup event have been completed after renovation.
The government ensures that Indonesia is ready to hold the prestigious football match on November 10 to December 2, 2023.
"All stadium preparations for the U-17 World Cup have been completed. Everything is ready to use," Minister Hadimuljono said.

The opening ceremony of the U-17 World Cup will be held at Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium (GBT), Surabaya on November 10. This one stadium will be the home base of the Indonesian U-17 national team in the Group A preliminary round.
The other three stadiums that are the locations of the U-17 World Cup matches include Jakarta International Stadium or JIS (Jakarta), Si Jalak Harupat Stadium (Bandung) and Manahan Stadium (Solo).
Previously, PSSI Chairman, Erick Thohir stated that the Stadium had reached 100 percent eligibility for the U-17 World Cup.
Thohir also expressed his gratitude all parties who have supported and worked optimally.

"I thank you for the support of the Mayor of Surabaya, the Minister of PUPR, the Central Government, the Ministry Sports and Youth, and colleagues from State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) like PLN and Telkom," He said when met by reporters after reviewing the GBT Stadium Surabaya, on last Sunday.
Surabaya is an important city in organizing this tournament. This city will be the headquarters of the U-17 national team in the Group A preliminary round.
The Indonesian team will compete in Group with Morocco, Ecuador and Panama. Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium, Surabaya, will also be the venue for two round of 16 matches on November 21, 2023.

Kepala Otorita IKN Basuki Hadimuljono mengatakan pembangunan kawasan yudikatif dimulai pada Desember 2025 sebagai bagian dari konstruksi tahap kedua pembangunan IKN.
