President Jokowi Believes Indonesian Democracy is Getting Better

Jakarta – President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) believes that democracy in Indonesia is getting better quality because people are getting wiser and more mature in choosing.
"I believe that democracy in Indonesia is getting better quality, people are also getting wiser in choosing," the Head of State said at the National Coordination Meeting of Election Organizers, at the Grand Sahid Jaya Hotel, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday.
The Head of State emphasized that the election is a party of the people, and the people must be joyful, "The people must be happy, the people must rejoice in the party. Not worry, not anxiety, that is present but joy,”

Therefore, President Jokowi asked all parties, especially the organizers, to make every effort to make the election a place to debate ideas.
"Therefore, we must try as much as possible together with great hope that this election can become a consolidation event that produces ideas that produce tactical ideas, tactical ideas for good solutions for the progress of our nation and country," the President remarked.

The General Elections Commission (KPU) has accepted the registration of three presidential and vice presidential candidate pairs for the 2024 presidential election, namely Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar, Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD, and Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka.
Moreover, it has set the election campaign period from November 28, 2023 to February 10, 2024, while voting is scheduled for February 14, 2024.
