Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution to Revitalize Medan Zoo

Sumatra – The Mayor of Medan, Muhammad Bobby Afif Nasution together with Safari park, is gradually revitalizing Medan Zoo.
"The initial revitalization plan began in February 2024. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, the schedule has been rearranged for the development of the Medan Zoo owned by the Medan City Government," Nasution said on Wednesday.
In the future development of Medan Zoo, Nasution stated that they are open to receiving assistance from any party. He mentioned that many others contribute to providing food for the animals residing in the zoo.

"Anyone can help Medan Zoo, we are always open. The food comes from CSR and assistance. This means we accept all kinds of assistance," Nasution remarked.
Within a period of approximately three months, there have been records of five tigers dying in this financially struggling zoo.
The first tiger named Erha died on Monday morning, November 6, 2023, around 8 a.m. local time.
The second tiger's death occurred in early December. A Bengal tiger named Avatar followed suit. The third death occurred with a tiger named Nurhaliza on Sunday evening, December 31, 2023, around 4:48 p.m.
Then, the fourth death occurred with a tiger named Wesa. The 17-year-old Bengal tiger died on January, 2024. Meanwhile, the fifth death, a tiger named Bintang Sorik, occurred on February 2024.Â
Meanwhile, the ferocious animal named Bintang Sorik died due to a critical illness that could no longer be cured.Â
