Jakarta, 13th March 2024 – The Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs (Kemenko Polhukam) ensures that the implementation of the 2024 election stages generally proceeds smoothly. Although there have been some issues, they asserts that the situation has been effectively addressed.
Deputy for Domestic Political Coordination of the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs of Indonesia, Major General TNI Heri Wiranto, in a dialogue at Forum Merdeka Barat 9 (FMB9), conveyed that based on monitoring and observation results, the election stages overall are still progressing well.
"We will continue to monitor and safeguard this election process to ensure its smooth running. If there are any violations that need to be addressed, there are certainly authorities within each institution in accordance with the Election Law," said Heri.
Heri also disclosed that there are several vulnerabilities in the 2024 election stages, including security disturbances from separatist groups in Papua and flooding disasters in several areas. However, Heri assured that all these issues have been effectively addressed.

"The government will oversee the election administration and ensure that the election stages proceed smoothly until the designated time," Heri emphasized.
Close coordination with relevant ministries and institutions continues to be carried out to ensure that the 2024 Election is conducted with integrity and transparency, as a tangible manifestation of a healthy and mature democracy.
"We ensure that we will continue monitoring all stages of the election administration and ensuring that the election stages can proceed smoothly. Therefore, it is expected that the vote counting process can be completed by March 20 and can be implemented correctly," said Heri.
