Prabowo Subianto Visited Jordan for Peace in Gaza

Jordan – Indonesian Defense Minister and also the President-elect Prabowo Subianto visited Jordan on Sunday (June 9) to represent Indonesia at a special summit on Gaza that is scheduled to take place in Amman on Tuesday.
The summit, themed “Call for Action: Urgent Humanitarian Response for Gaza,” was initiated by King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein of Jordan, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sissi, and UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.
Brig. Gen. Edwin Adrian Sumantha, a public relations officer at the Ministry of Defense, stated on Monday (June 10) that the heads of state present at the summit are expected to find ways to strengthen the response to the humanitarian crisis in the Palestinian enclave.
“The presence of the Indonesian government representative at the summit is expected to make a real contribution to the joint efforts to overcome the humanitarian crisis in Gaza,” Edwin, who accompanied Prabowo Subianto during his visit to Amman, stated, as quoted from the Antara site.

On a separate occasion, Subianto reiterated several times that Indonesia remains steadfast in its stance that the conflict in Gaza must be resolved through a ceasefire and a two-state solution.
"Indonesia also firmly supports the independence of the Palestinian people, supports the two-state solution, and supports all efforts for an immediate ceasefire," Minister Prabowo Subianto stated.
As known, the two-state solution is Prabowo's main proposal, which suggests the establishment of two independent states, Israel and Palestine.
Each state would be sovereign and live peacefully side by side in the regions of Israel and Palestine with internationally recognized borders.
Earlier, Minister Subianto stated that Indonesia to send peacekeeping troops to the Gaza Strip. This is to show Indonesia's commitment to maintaining peace in Gaza and realizing a long-lasting ceasefire between the conflict.
