Hyundai Rolls Out Its First Hybrid Car in Indonesian Market

Jakarta, VIVA – Hyundai Motors Indonesia (HMID) has officially launched the All-new Santa Fe, marking the arrival of the latest generation of this popular SUV.

At the launch, HMID introduced two engine options - a hybrid and an internal combustion engine (ICE).

Fransiscus Soerjopranoto, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of HMID, stated that this is the fifth generation since its initial debut in 2002.

"Today, we present the fifth generation of the Santa Fe, 20 years after its first introduction in Indonesia," he said during the launch at Plaza Senayan, Jakarta.

In terms of specifications, the new Santa Fe measures 4,830 mm in length, 1,900 mm in width, 1,720 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,815 mm.

The South Korean automaker has also refreshed the vehicle's design. Visually, the new Santa Fe boasts a bold and futuristic appearance, with distinctive H-shaped headlights.

On the side, prominent overfenders and a roof rack add to its rugged appeal.

Regarding the engine options, Soerjopranoto revealed that the new Santa Fe comes in two variants, both for the conventional and hybrid models, with 8-speed and 6-speed transmissions, respectively.

The hybrid variant is powered by a 1.6-liter turbocharged gasoline engine paired with an electric motor and a battery. Its power is delivered to the front wheels through a 6-speed automatic transmission.

Meanwhile, the conventional model features a 2.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine, coded Theta III, delivering a maximum output of 281 PS and 421 Nm of torque, with an all-wheel-drive system.

As for pricing, the All-New Hyundai Santa Fe starts at IDR 699 million for the entry-level Prime variant of the conventional model, and IDR 784.5 million for the Calligraphy variant.

The Santa Fe Hybrid is priced at IDR 786.3 million for the Prime variant, and IDR 869.6 million for the Calligraphy variant.
