11 Indonesians Charged with Murder in Japan

Jakarta, VIVA – The Director of Protection for Indonesian Citizens (PWNI) at the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Judha Nugraha, stated that 11 Indonesian citizens were arrested by Isesaki police in Japan on suspicion of murder.
"The Indonesian Embassy in Tokyo is in continuous communication with the Isesaki Police. The police have named 11 Indonesian nationals as suspects, with the initial charges being immigration violations (overstaying) and the secondary charge being murder," Nugraha said on Thursday (Jan 16).

He explained that the Isesaki police are still investigating the 11 Indonesians arrested on these two charges.
The Indonesian Embassy in Tokyo is closely monitoring the legal proceedings against the Indonesian citizen suspects and providing legal assistance to ensure their rights are upheld.
Meanwhile, the body of victim A was repatriated to Indonesia on January 11, 2025.
This alleged murder case came to light during the investigation of a murder involving fellow Indonesians on November 3, 2024, in Isesaki, Gunma, Japan.
The Indonesian victim, identified by the initial A, died from stab wounds, while three other Indonesian nationals were hospitalized.
"The Indonesian citizen who was killed and those injured were overstayers and are suspected to have been victims of a robbery," Nugraha said.
