IIMS 2025 Opens with Focus on Boosting Automotive Industry Amidst Sales Dip

Jakarta, VIVA – The Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS 2025) officially opened on February 13, 2025, and will run until February 23, 2025, at JIEXpo, Kemayoran, Central Jakarta. The opening event was attended by the Minister of Industry, Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita.

On this occasion, the Minister highlighted the decline in motor and car vehicles sales during 2024 compared to 2023.

"Four-wheeled vehicle sales in 2024 recorded a wholesale figure of only 865,723 units, reflecting a 13.9% decline compared to 2023," he remarked during his opening speech at IIMS 2025.



The Minister emphasized the need for innovative breakthroughs to boost the automotive industry.

"With the current sluggish market, all stakeholders, including the government, need to explore new strategies to reignite consumer interest in automotive purchases," Minister Kartasasmita remarked.

He further explained that one of the latest measures introduced by the government is the provision of incentives for hybrid and electric cars.

"We know that after quite a long wait, incentives are now finally available for hybrid cars, not just electric vehicles. With the IIMS 2025 exhibition and the new government incentives, we hope to stimulate growth in the automotive industry," Minister Kartasasmita explained.

At the same event, President Director of Dyandra Promosindo, Daswar Marpaung, expressed gratitude to the government for implementing incentives in the automotive sector.

"We would like to thank the government for the incentives now available for hybrid and electric cars. These policy provides a breath of fresh air for the national automotive industry, which will positively impact the economy," Marpaung said.

He added, "We must seize this momentum as best as we can. This year, IIMS features a larger area and more brands, totaling 56 brands, including both four-wheel and two-wheel vehicles, along with supporting industries."

As additional information, ticket prices for IIMS 2025 start at IDR 50,000 for weekdays (Monday-Thursday) and IDR 90,000 for weekends (Friday-Sunday). On February 13, 2025, a special Premium Day ticket is available for IDR 150,000.
