President Prabowo's Administration Inaugurates 961 Regional Heads

Jakarta, VIVA – Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto has officially inaugurated 961 newly elected regional heads, a result of the simultaneous 2024 regional elections.

The appointments include 33 governors and their deputies, 363 regents and 362 deputy regents, as well as 85 mayors and 85 deputy mayors.

The inauguration ceremony was held at the State Palace in Central Jakarta on Thursday, February 20, 2025. President Prabowo personally led the oath-taking, with six regional leaders representing the group reciting the pledge.

“I solemnly swear to fulfill my duties as governor, deputy governor, regent, deputy regent, mayor, or deputy mayor to the best of my abilities and with utmost fairness,” Prabowo declared while leading the oath-taking ceremony at the State Palace, Jakarta, on Thursday (Feb 20).

“I will uphold the Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia, abide by all laws and regulations, and devote myself to the welfare of the people, the nation, and the country,” he continued.

Following the oath-taking, President Prabowo signed the official inauguration documents for the six representative leaders and extended his congratulations on their new positions.

Earlier reports had stated that President Prabowo Subianto would preside over the inauguration of regional heads elected in the 2024 simultaneous elections. The ceremony took place at the Presidential Palace in Central Jakarta this day.



Yusuf Permana, Deputy for Protocol, Press, and Media at the Presidential Secretariat, confirmed that the ceremony would be directly led by President Prabowo.

“The inauguration will be conducted directly by President Prabowo Subianto, who will administer the oath of office to the newly elected regional heads,” he said in different occassion.

He elaborated that the 961 leaders to be inaugurated include 33 governors and their deputies, 363 regents and 362 deputy regents, as well as 85 mayors and their deputies. The ceremony will be carried out in a single comprehensive process.

During the event, President Prabowo is also scheduled to deliver an address to the newly inaugurated leaders.

“President Prabowo will also deliver a speech to the newly appointed regional leaders,” he stated.
