President Prabowo Highlights 60 percent Increase in National Gold Production

Jakarta, VIVA – Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto announced that the country’s gold production has increased significantly. Previously at 100 tons per year, production has now risen to 160 tons annually.
"Indonesia, we are just realizing now, is a wealthy nation. As mentioned earlier, our gold production has increased from 100 tons per year to 160 tons per year," the head of state stated during the inauguration of Pegadaian and Bank Syariah Indonesia’s Gold Bank Services at The Gade Tower, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday (Feb 26).
President Prabowo expressed hope that the establishment of the Gold Bank would accelerate gold savings among the public.
Additionally, he expects a significant increase in the country’s national gold reserves.

"We hope this will accelerate savings, which will boost our gold reserves, my brothers and sisters," the president remarked.
On the other hand, Prabowo also expects the launch of the Gold Bank services to impact the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
He estimated that it could contribute an additional IDR 245 trillion to GDP while creating 1.8 million new jobs.
President Prabowo was accompanied at the inauguration by State-Owned Enterprises Minister Erick Thohir, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia, and Finance Minister Sri Mulyani.
