BNPB to Relocate 428 Houses in Bogor to Prevent Landslide Risks

Bogor, VIVA – The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) has confirmed plans to relocate 428 homes in Bogor Regency, West Java, that are at risk of being affected by land movement disasters.

BNPB’s Head of the Disaster Data, Information, and Communication Center, Abdul Muhari, stated that these homes are located in Bojong Koneng, Cijayanti, Karang Tengah, and Kampung Pensiunan within Bogor Regency, West Java.

In early March, flash floods impacted these areas, weakening the soil structure and increasing the risk of land movement.

“This relocation is being carried out by the government to anticipate potential land shifts and ensure safe housing for affected residents,” Muhari said on Thursday (March 27).

He further explained that in the relocation plan, residents from Bojong Koneng, Cijayanti, and Karang Tengah will be moved to Sentul City, while nine homes in Kampung Pensiunan will be relocated to Cisarua, Bogor, West Java.

BNPB assured that rehabilitation and reconstruction efforts are currently underway, including infrastructure restoration and resettlement for those affected by hydrometeorological disasters in Bogor Regency earlier in March 2025.

Regarding infrastructure recovery, Abdul noted that two damaged connecting bridges in Leuwimalang Village and Jogjogan Village, Cisarua District, are now under reconstruction. Meanwhile, a bridge in Tugu Utara Village is being rebuilt using a steel frame (bailey) structure, with assistance from the Indonesian Army. 

"BNPB Chief Suharyanto has personally inspected the reconstruction process, which has now reached 60% completion and is expected to be finished soon," he stated.
