The new fleet will later be operated by Damri, continuing the success of 20 CKD electric buses that are already operating in Jakarta under SinarJaya.

The decision by TransJakarta and Damri to continue procuring electric buses from VKTR reflects their commitment to supporting locally made products.

As information, the local content value of VKTR’s CKD electric buses has exceeded 40 percent.

This achievement makes VKTR the first and only company in Indonesia to meet the government's 40 percent local content value threshold for electric buses.

The procurement of electric buses also contributes to job creation and the growth of the national industry.

VKTR President Director, Gilarsi Wahju Setijono, stated that the continued trust from TransJakarta and Damri demonstrates Indonesia's readiness to join the global movement of mobility electrification.

He claimed VKTR's electric buses help reduce carbon footprints and support sustainability.

“We greatly appreciate TransJakarta’s trust in extending this partnership. We are proud to lead this change and help the people of Indonesia transition to eco-friendly public transport,” Setijono said on Monday (May 5).

VKTR first delivered electric commercial vehicles in Indonesia in 2022.

It has consistently maintained its pioneering edge by establishing Indonesia’s first and only CKD electric commercial vehicle assembly plant in Magelang, with a production capacity of up to 3,000 units per year.

Since being listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) on June 19, 2023, the company has consistently pursued its mission to accelerate sustainable mobility through innovation and global partnerships.

The collaboration with TransJakarta and Damri stands as concrete evidence of realizing a greener, more sustainable future.

More than just a transportation service, VKTR and its strategic partners aim to drive major change—toward a mobility transformation that leads Indonesia into a greener, smarter, and more competitive future.
