Jakarta, VIVA – Iran has warned the United States, the United Kingdom, and France that their bases and ships in the region will be targeted if they attempt to stop Tehran’s attacks on Israel.

This warning was reported by Iranian state media on Saturday (June 14).

Iran’s state television also reported that around 60 people, including 20 children, were killed in an Israeli strike on a residential complex in the Iranian capital, Tehran.

Two more people were killed in an Israeli strike on a missile site in Assadabad, western Iran.

Iran’s Mehr News Agency reported that an Israeli attack near the Tabriz refinery in the northwest caused thick smoke to rise from the facility.

Iran’s attacks on Israel are set to continue, with targets expected to expand to include US bases in the region in the coming days, according to a report by Iran’s Fars News Agency on Saturday, citing senior Iranian military officials.

“This confrontation will not end with last night’s limited actions. Iran’s attacks will continue and will be very painful and regrettable for the aggressors,” Fars quoted the senior military official as saying, according to Arab News.

They warned that the war “will spread in the coming days to all areas occupied by this (Israeli) regime and to American bases in the region.”

Israel’s Defense Minister, Israel Katz, warned Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei that “Tehran will burn” if missile strikes on Israeli civilians continue.

“The Iranian dictator is holding the people of Iran hostage, creating a reality in which they, and especially the people of Tehran, will pay a heavy price for the great harm inflicted on Israeli citizens. If Khamenei continues to fire missiles into Israeli territory, Tehran will burn,” Katz said in a statement.

The threat of a broader war escalated as Iran and Israel continued to exchange fire on Saturday, following Israel’s largest airstrike against its longtime adversary, aimed at preventing Iran from developing nuclear weapons.

Iran’s civil aviation authority announced that the country’s airspace would be closed “until further notice,” according to state media reports on Saturday, as both countries continued their attacks into the second day.

“There will be no flights operating at any airport in the country to ensure passenger safety... until further notice,” Iran’s official IRNA news agency reported.
