Broken Finger, Tiara's Effort to Win Gold Medal at 2021 SEA Games

VIVA – Tiara Andini Prastika's struggle has ended beautifully. Tiara succeeded to cure her past memory when she failed to become a champion in Manila, Philippines, due to a serious injury before the 2019 SEA Games competition.

This athlete has erased her curiosity after being the best in the women's downhill number at the SEA Games in Hanoi, Vietnam.

Tiara's dream to donate a gold medal has actually existed since the previous edition of the 2019 SEA Games in the Philippines. Unexpectedly, at that time an unexpected incident occurred during practice or one day before the competition which resulted in a broken left pinkie finger.

One of the Indonesian heroes at the 2021 SEA Games has a never give up character. The athlete from Semarang continued to compete with an injury condition and she was finally able to donate a silver medal with a time of three minutes 16.9 seconds.

"From the 2019 SEA Games, the target was actually gold, but there was an injury problem and I failed. From there, I improved my technique and physicality," Tiara said in a written statement on Tuesday.

Tiara's struggle finally paid off. Her dream finally came true by winning a gold medal at the Vietnam SEA Games.

Thanks to her persistence and thorough preparation, Tiara passed the 2.01km track with the best record time of 3 minutes 31.531 seconds and an average speed of 34.21 km/hour.

She won over Thailand's Vipavee Deekaballes who was in second place with 3 minutes 42.337 seconds or 10.806 seconds adrift of Tiara.

Meanwhile, Filipino cyclist athlete, Naomi Gardoce took home bronze after posting a time of 3 minutes 44.722 seconds or 13.191 seconds adrift of the winner.
