Goa Cina Beach: The Exotic Beach in Malang

VIVA – No wonder that the city of Malang is indeed famous for its enchanting tourism potential such as mountains, waterfalls, and beaches. One of the exotic beaches in South Malang is Goa Cina Beach. This beach is located in Tumpak Awu Hamlet, Sitiarjo Village, Sumbermanjing Wetan District, Malang Regency, East Java.
It takes a 2 to 3 hours’ drive from the center of Malang City to this china cave beach. Before arriving at this exotic beach, visitors must pass a fairly difficult road because the roads here are still in the form of dirt and rocks.
Goa Cina Beach in Malang has a very enchanting attraction such as:
1. Natural Wealth Still Maintained Well
Visitors can see the sea water looks clear and the sand looks sparkling. When you set foot there, the wind will feel very cool. Visitors also have to explore the shoreline which is equipped with Cembrit and Ketapang trees.
2. Strong Waves and Currents

The waves and strong currents on this beach are also a tourist attraction. Unfortunately, the current is quite strong so that tourists are not allowed to swim too far from the shoreline for fear that it will threaten life safety.
Although visitors are not allowed to swim, tourists are allowed to stay overnight by building a tent.
Not only has an attractive charm, this beach also has a unique history. Before being named as China Goa Beach, this beach was first named Rowo Indah Beach. Its name began to change when a monk from China came to the place in 1930, who made the location a hermitage.
Even from a distance, there is a cave that is believed to be the place of the monk's hermitage. Tragically, the monk never left the place and was declared dead when only his bones were found.
Inside the hermitage, there are also Chinese writings on each cave wall and a bowl as a complement.
