China to Expand Cooperation with Indonesia After Whoosh Fast Train

Beijing – Chinese President Xi Jinping praised the Jakarta-Bandung Fast Train (KCJB) or Whoosh, which was built under China-Indonesia cooperation. This was conveyed during his meeting with President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) on Tuesday. 

President Xi Jinping said the Fast Train is a "Golden Brand" of China-Indonesia cooperation in the Belt and Road program.

According to President Xi Jinping, China is ready to expand and strengthen cooperation with Indonesia in new industries like the digital economy, photovoltaics, and new energy vehicles. 

"China is also willing to boost imports of Indonesian agricultural and fishery products," the President informed. 

Both Indonesia and China should deepen the integration of industrial chains and supply chains, and jointly promote the construction of regional comprehensive economic corridors, the President explained. 

As more information, the Jakarta-Bandung fast train was inaugurated in early October 2023. This fast train has an investment value of up to US$7.3 billion connecting Jakarta with Bandung.

Not only that, President Joko Widodo also plans to extend the Fast Train line to Surabaya.
