Ganjar Pranowo Wants Defense System 5.0 to be Realized

Jakarta – Presidential candidate number 3 Ganjar Pranowo is seeking to make the defense system more modern and enter area 5.0 if he and Mahfud MD are elected.

According to Ganjar, the Indonesian defense system must become a fortress for the defense of the archipelago as a whole. Therefore, it is necessary to organize troop titles.

"A strong and tough defense needs to be implemented to prevent a global fight between the United States and China because the presence of IKN Nusantara has become a new center of gravity," Ganjar said during the second presidential candidate debate at Istora Senayan, Jakarta on Sunday.

To deal with these conditions, Ganjar Pranowo will prepare super-modern defense technology.

"Our defense will enter region 5.0 with advanced technology with hypersonic missiles, cyber weapons, quantum sensors, and autonomous weapons systems," he emphasized. 

However, such a defense system can be developed if the state budget is also prepared. Because Ganjar Pranowo is worried about conditions related to the global situation.

"And, it can be done because the Ministry of Defense's budget is 1-2 percent of GDP,"

That way, our minimum defense can be achieved. “Because it's so bad in 2024, I'm afraid it won't be achieved,”

As known, the General Election Commission (KPU) determined five debates for presidential election participants.  The KPU has held two debates, namely the first debate on December 12 and the second debate on December 22, 2023.

As information, the third debate theme is Defense, Security, International Relations, Globalization, Geopolitics, and Foreign Policy.
