Indonesia, UAE Strengthen Ties with Eight New Cooperation

Abu Dhabi, VIVA – Indonesian President, Prabowo Subianto and the President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan (MBZ), held a private meeting at the Qasr Al Shatie Palace in Abu Dhabi, UAE, on Wednesday (Apr 9).
Following the closed-door discussion, both leaders witnessed the signing of eight official documents, consisting of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) and Letters of Intent (LoIs), signifying a strengthened strategic partnership between Indonesia and the UAE.

“After the private meeting, the session concluded with the announcement of both MoUs and LoIs that have been signed and agreed upon by both parties,” said Yusuf Permana, Deputy for Protocol, Press, and Media Affairs at the Presidential Secretariat, on Wednesday.
The announcement was made at the end of the bilateral meeting between President Prabowo and President MBZ.
The eight agreements include four government-to-government (G-to-G) collaborations and four business-to-business (B-to-B) partnerships.
These agreements reflect the deepening strategic relationship between Indonesia and the UAE across various sectors.
The four G-to-G MoUs are:
• Joint Declaration of Intent between the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Indonesia's Coordinating Ministry for Food Affairs on the Partnership for Nature and Climate;
• Second Amendment Protocol to the Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of Indonesia and the Government of the UAE on Marine and Fisheries Cooperation;
• Memorandum of Understanding between the UAE Ministry of Interior and the Indonesian National Police on Security Cooperation and Counter-Terrorism;
• Memorandum of Understanding between Indonesia’s Ministry of Religious Affairs and the UAE General Authority for Islamic Affairs, Awqaf, and Zakat on Islamic and Religious Endowment Cooperation.
The four B-to-B agreements include:
• MoU between Indonesia’s Directorate General of Livestock and Animal Health, Ministry of Agriculture, and Al-Ain Farms for Livestock Production (UAE) on Investment in Dairy Production;
• MoU between Ninety Degree General Trading LLC and PT Pindad;
• Principle Agreement regarding the Expansion of Capacity for the Cirata Solar Photovoltaic Power Plant;
• MoU between PT PLN (Persero) and Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company PJSC - MASDAR on the Development Plan for the 100 MW Floating Solar Power Plant at Jatigede.
This series of agreements marks a significant milestone in the warm and cooperative diplomatic ties between Indonesia and the UAE—relations that have flourished over more than four decades.
