IKN Office Area Construction to Finish by Mid-2025

Penajam Paser Utara, VIVA – The Secretary of the Nusantara Capital Authority (OIKN), Bimo Adi Nursanthyasto, stated that the government office area currently under construction is targeted for completion by June 2025.
It will be operational, as it forms an integrated ecosystem with the surrounding economic area.
“The construction of the Palace complex, the Coordinating Ministries, the State Secretariat Ministry, and supporting infrastructure is targeted for full completion by June 2025,” Nursanthyasto said on Wednesday.
To complement the office ecosystem, several facilities such as minimarkets, restaurants, ATMs, vending machines, and post offices are already available at various office and residential locations in IKN.

According to him, IKN is designed to be a hub for government and economic activities, thus necessitating the development of an ecosystem that supports these activities.
Therefore, the construction of supporting infrastructure such as offices, housing, transportation, and social facilities is a priority to accommodate the civil servants who will relocate to IKN.
Nursanthyasto also mentioned that construction at the Palace area, including the State Palace, Garuda Palace, the ceremonial grounds, and the Presidential Secretariat building, is already functional along with its supporting facilities.
“In total, the Coordinating Ministry complex will accommodate around 9,465 employees,” he remarked.
Regarding housing readiness for ASN moving to IKN, there are already 36 units of Ministerial Housing, 17 residential towers for ASN, 5 towers for Presidential Security Forces, 2 towers for the police, and 2 towers for the State Intelligence Agency (BIN), all of which are now functional.
“These residences are ready for occupancy. A total of 47 towers have been completed and can accommodate 8,410 employees. OIKN plans to build another 30 ASN towers by 2028, which will accommodate an additional 5,400 employees, bringing the total capacity to around 13,810 employees,” Nursanthyasto added.
He also mentioned that starting from early March 2025, all OIKN employees will be fully operating from IKN.
Employees are required to use electric buses as the main mode of transportation within IKN.
“We utilize the electric feeder buses provided to commute to the office. OIKN employees are currently residing in the ASN 1 residential complex. The commute takes about 10 minutes, covering a distance of approximately 3 kilometers,” he concluded.
