“This vehicle, which was originally powered by an internal combustion diesel engine, has now been transformed into a fully electric-powered vehicle,” said Secretary Wijaya in his official statement.
He explained that the MV3-EV "Pandu" was developed based on the EV3 operational vehicle platform, which had previously been supplied to the Ministry of Defense.
At the inauguration ceremony, President Prabowo not only signed the vehicle but also wrote a note expressing his pride in this locally produced, environmentally friendly defense vehicle.
According to gathered information, the MV3 Tactical EV is a 4x4 electric tactical vehicle developed by PT Pindad. It is based on the MV3 platform, which has already been modified into several variants such as:
• MV3 Garuda Limousine (used for presidential transport)
• Maung MV3 Series, including the Tangguh or Spartan, Jelajah, and Komando variants.
The launch of Pandu demonstrates PT Pindad’s commitment as a defense industry player to continue innovating and adopting eco-friendly technologies.
The name "Pandu" is taken from a character in the Mahabharata epic, symbolizing a pioneer or someone who leads the way.
The vehicle is also expected to contribute to the growth of Indonesia’s national electric vehicle ecosystem in the future.
