President Prabowo: The Nation Needs Police Who Protect the Defenseless

Jakarta, VIVA – Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto stated that the nation needs a strong and capable police force that stands up for the poor and marginalized.

He delivered this message during the 79th Anniversary of Bhayangkara Day, held at Monas Field in Central Jakarta on Tuesday (July 1).

According to the head of state, a resilient and excellent police force is essential in realizing the founding fathers' vision of an Indonesia free from poverty and hunger.

“That is why our nation needs a strong police force—one that is excellent, clean, loved by the people, always among the people, always defending and protecting the people, especially the weakest, the most oppressed, and the poorest,” the president explained.



He emphasized that throughout human history, no nation has succeeded without a competent and robust police institution.

President Prabowo also expressed his highest appreciation and respect to the founders of the Indonesian National Police.

“Those who have contributed and paved the way for building a strong police force,” he praised.

As information, the Bhayangkara Day celebration was attended by numerous dignitaries, including Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, 6th President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY), President Ma’ruf Amin, and others.

Several ministers from the Red and White Cabinet also attended, including Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia and Minister of Cooperatives Budi Arie Setiadi.

Also present were Speaker of the House of Representatives Puan Maharani, Deputy Speaker Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, and Speaker of the People’s Consultative Assembly Ahmad Muzani.
