Prabowo Appoints Zulkifli Hasan to Lead National Cooperative Task Force

Jakarta, VIVA – Indonesian President, Prabowo Subianto, has officially formed a special task force named the Red and White Cooperatives (Koperasi Merah Putih) Task Force to ensure the effective and integrated implementation of the national village cooperative program.
The task force will be led by Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs, Zulkifli Hasan.
This announcement was made by Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya following a closed-door meeting with President Prabowo at his private residence in Hambalang, Bogor, West Java, on Monday (June 23).
“As part of efforts to strengthen field-level implementation, the government has established the Red and White Cooperatives Task Force, chaired by the Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs, with deputy heads from relevant ministries and a daily operational team,” Wijaya stated.

The meeting also focused on accelerating the development of the Red and White cooperatives as a national strategy to empower rural economies and streamline the supply chain for essential goods.
According to Wijaya, these village-based cooperatives are designed not only to reduce the length of distribution chains between producers and consumers but also to serve as key distributors of essential goods to communities.
“Beyond shortening the supply chain between producers and consumers, these cooperatives will play a vital role in distributing public necessities such as fertilizer, LPG gas cylinders, and government assistance programs,” he explained.
