Andrea Dovizioso Officially Retires from MotoGP

VIVA – Italian racer on Yamaha, Andrea Dovizioso decides to retire early from MotoGP, after the San Marino Series at Misano in September. Later, Divizioso's position will be replaced by Cal Crutchlow.
Last month, Dovizioso announced his plans to quit MotoGP at the end of the year but decided after the summer break to retire.
It is known, Dovizioso admitted that this decision was taken because the project of he and Yamaha were running did not get good results.
Andrea Doviozo has defended Honda for four years. He also represented Yamaha through Tech 3 Racing in 2012 and won six podiums.

After that, he had also wanted to move to Yamaha in 2013, but his desire had to be hindered by the return of Valentino Rossi.
Until finally, he decided to accept the offer as a Ducati Team. Dovizioso has been a three-time MotoGP runner-up with Ducati but this season has scored just 10 points and has never finished in the top ten.
"My adventure will end in Misano, but the relationship with everyone involved in this challenge will remain intact forever," Dovizioso explained in an official statement quoted by Reuters on Friday, August 5, 2022.
Meanwhile, Crutchlow has retired at the end of the 2020 season but has a duty as a Yamaha test rider. He was introduced to racing last year in place of the injured Franco Morbidelli and Maverick Vinales, who left the factory Yamaha team early.
After the summer break, MotoGP is back on track this weekend starting with the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, followed by Austria and San Marino and at Misano on September 4.
