Anindya Bakrie and Minister Hartarto Discuss Various Government Programs

Jakarta, VIVA – The Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), Anindya Novyan Bakrie, met with Airlangga Hartarto, the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, to discuss the continuation of President Joko Widodo's (Jokowi) government programs under the future leadership of Prabowo Subianto.
In the meeting, Minister Hartarto and Bakrie also discussed the state of the domestic economy, as well as the 2025 State Budget (APBN) recently set by the government.
"I see the domestic economy is very positive because we've already seen the structure of the 2025 APBN with all its assumptions. I think there are many opportunities for economic growth, but challenges must also be faced together, and the business world should always accompany the government," Bakrie stated on Wednesday (Sept 25).

The discussion further focused on programs that would be suitable for the next government.
According to Bakrie, future economic policies should focus on supporting the purchasing power of the public to ensure domestic consumption remains powerful.
"Also, how Kadin can participate in overseeing government spending programs, including those for schools and hospitals, and how to create a perception that Indonesia is indeed safe, so that Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) can continue to grow," he stated.
Additionally, Bakrie discussed opportunities for increasing exports, supporting SMEs, and boosting the digital and green industries.
In the meeting, he also received two main pieces of advice from the minister; first, on how Kadin can continue to be a strategic partner to the government, contributing both to the domestic economy and internationally.
Second, on how Kadin can be a platform for all businesses, not just large corporations, but also small and medium enterprises (SMEs), state-owned enterprises (BUMN), and cooperatives.
