He went on to emphasize his determination to push forward with the project, even aiming to complete it.

However, he acknowledged that building a new capital is a long-term endeavor, requiring significant time and effort.

Still, he remains confident that the city will be functional within approximately five years.

“I think I’ve said this many times: I am determined to continue this project and, if possible, see it through to completion. Although we understand that constructing a capital city is no short-term task—it’s a lengthy and challenging process—I believe that in three, four, or five years, it will already be operational,” the head of state explained.

As a businessman, Prabowo also expressed optimism about the project's completion.

“I’m not a technical expert, but I’m an empiricist—I’m a hands-on person, and I’ve been involved in many construction projects. From what I see, I’m optimistic. And in time, we will realize the true benefits of this relocation, even though there’s still a lot of work ahead,” he remarked.

When asked whether he would work from IKN, President Prabowo responded by stating that he would follow the regulations, which require Indonesia’s president to be based in the capital city.

“If it’s the capital, then the president must be there,” he affirmed.
