Government Ensures Eid Flight Discounts for All, including Travel Agents

Jakarta, VIVA – Indonesian government through Minister of Transportation, Dudy Purwagandhi, announced that airfares for the 2025 Lebaran holiday have been reduced.

Minister Purwagandhi stated that the discounted flight tickets have been available for purchase since March 1, 2024.
“Yes, prices have dropped. Bookings have been open since yesterday for travel starting on March 24,” Purwagandhi said on Monday (March 3).
He explained that the reduced airfares apply to travel between March 24 and April 7, 2025. These tickets can be purchased through airline websites or online travel agencies.

“Bookings can be made directly with the respective airlines, as well as through apps like Traveloka and others,” the minister remarked.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Transportation has coordinated with the Ministry of Tourism to offer further discounts for those purchasing tickets through travel agencies, as these agencies fall under the Ministry of Tourism’s oversight.
“We have also discussed this with the Minister of Tourism because travel agency applications are managed under the Ministry of Tourism. This will allow synchronization between platform providers and the policies that were recently issued,” the minister explained.
As more information, President Prabowo Subianto has pledged that airfares will decrease two weeks before Eid homecoming 2025.
Currently, the government is still preparing to lower airfare prices for those traveling Eid al-Fitr this year.
“We were also preparing to reduce airfares in the next two weeks,” the head of state said several days ago.
In addition to airfare discount, President Prabowo has also promised to lower toll road fees during the 2025 Eid homecoming and return traffic period.
