Jakarta, VIVA – President Prabowo Subianto is set to make a reciprocal visit to His Excellency To Lam, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV). The visit is expected to result in a significant agreement between Indonesia and Vietnam.
"I have expressed my intention to make a reciprocal visit to Vietnam in the near future," President Prabowo Subianto stated during a joint statement with General Secretary To Lam at the State Palace in Central Jakarta on Monday (March 10).
One of the key agendas of his visit will be the signing of the long-awaited Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) boundary agreement between Indonesia and Vietnam, which has been under discussion for more than a decade.
"I hope that during the visit, we can sign the implementing agreement for our economic cooperation, a crucial pact that resolves an issue that has remained unresolved for many years—possibly over a decade. Alhamdulillah, it is finally completed," the head of state said.

The President also emphasized that the ratification process for the agreement will be carried out by each country's parliament. Once ratified, Prabowo will travel to Vietnam for the official signing.
"The ratification process in our parliament is expected to take place in April, after Eid al-Fitr, while their legislative body will also complete their ratification soon," he remarked.
President Prabowo also said, "God willing, I will sign the agreement in Hanoi during my state visit, which serves as a reciprocal gesture following His Excellency’s visit to Indonesia."
