Jakarta, VIVA – The Ministry of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection (PPPA) is urging Indonesian women to become empowered in order to end violence and human trafficking ahead of the 2025 Kartini Day commemoration.
Dewa Ayu Laksmiadi Janapriati, Assistant Deputy for Gender Mainstreaming in Human Development, Culture, Community Empowerment, and Regional Government Affairs Area III at the Ministry of PPPA, said Indonesian women must actively participate in nation-building.

“We want women in Indonesia to become empowered and break the discrimination that still often occurs in society. They must also work to reduce economic inequality,” Janapriati said in Jakarta on Sunday (Apr 20).
She believes that if women are empowered, issues of violence and human trafficking, which remain major concerns in Indonesia, can be resolved.
