Beijing, VIVA – Indonesian Finance Minister, Sri Mulyani Indrawati, recently held talks with her counterparts from Saudi Arabia and Qatar to address the growing concerns surrounding the ongoing Iran-Israel conflict and its global implications.

The meeting, which took place on the sidelines of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) annual gathering in Beijing, China, brought together Saudi Finance Minister Muhammad Al-Jadaan and Qatari Finance Minister Ali Ahmed Al-Kuwari.

In a post shared on her official Instagram account @smindrawati, the minister stated that the high-level discussion focused on the humanitarian crisis and economic uncertainty triggered by the conflict in the Middle East.

“We discussed the war currently unfolding in the Middle East and its severe humanitarian consequences, along with the uncertainty it causes—both of which have a profoundly negative impact on the global economy,” Minister Indrawati said on Wednesday (June 25).

Recognizing the far-reaching economic repercussions, the minister expressed hope that tensions in the region would soon de-escalate.

She urged all involved parties to consider a ceasefire and work toward a peaceful resolution.

“We all hope for the situation in the Middle East to de-escalate soon and for a peace agreement to be reached—for the good of all humanity,” she added.
