List of Modern Facilities to Make IKN Nusantara Smart City

Kalimantan – Indonesia is planning to move its capital from Jakarta in Java to a new city in East Kalimantan, named IKN Nusantara. IKN will show the greatness of the Indonesian nation, reflect national identity, and ensure socio-economic and environmental sustainability.Â
IKN Nusantara is planned as a smart city that is modern and sustainable with international standards and has many technologies in several sectors.Â
"This is the city for the future, we are building until 2045," the Head of IKN Nusantara Authority, Bambang Susantono said at the Kempinski Hotel, Central Jakarta, on this week.Â
So, here's the list of modern facilities to make IKN Nusantara a smart city:Â

1. MRT and Fast Train
Mass Rapid Transit or MRT and fast trains are likely to be present in IKN Nusantara for public transportation. The Indonesian and South Korean governments have agreed on the cooperation, which goes into the construction of MRT Phase 4 in IKN Nusantara.Â
This was conveyed by the President Director of MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) Tuhiyat. "IKN (MRT) will be for public transportation, whether it will be elevated, underground, or other modes that are transformational, but it will be built," Tuhiyad said at Martha Christina Tiahahu Literacy Park, South Jakarta, on Friday.Â
2. Flying Taxi
Another modern transportation that will be in IKN Nusantara is, Flying taxi. As the builder, Hyundai Motor Group has signed an agreement with the Indonesian government.Â
The latest news is that this electric-powered flying taxi is targeted to operate in 22 years at IKN Nusantara.Â
As reported on Hyundai's official website, the electric taxi prototype that can fly like a large drone is named UAM S-A1. This taxi has 8 rotors with 15-meter-long wings, with a body dimension of 10.7 meters.
3. Undersea Expressway
The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) through the Directorate General of Highways stated that the construction of an underwater tunnel also known as an immersed tunnel in IKN will begin next year.Â
