Sumatra – The government to reduce airfare prices by up to 20 percent in three Super Priority Tourism Destinations (DPSP). This was announced by Deputy for Tourism and Creative Economy at the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment (Marves) Odo Manuhutu.

Manuhutu explained that this applies to flights to Sisingamangaraja XII/Silangit International Airport (Lake Toba), Lombok International Airport (Mandalika), and Komodo Labuan Bajo Airport (Labuan Bajo).

"So, it's a government policy, a cross-ministerial cooperation between Marves, the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, the Ministry of Transportation, and Pertamina," Manuhutu stated during the F1 Powerboat Lake Toba 2024 event, at the Mulia Raja Napitupulu Port, Balige, Toba Regency, North Sumatra, on Sunday.

Manuhutu revealed that the policy has been agreed upon with airlines operating at the three airports in DPSP, resulting in a decrease in prices compared to before.

"The ticket prices are influenced by three components: aviation fuel prices and spare parts, so everything has been discussed with the airlines. Meanwhile, in the three DPSP areas, we will see further," Manuhutu remarked.

Furthermore, Manuhutu stated that the policy was taken to increase domestic and international tourist visits, so that the economic turnover in these three destinations could be higher.

Manuhutu said that the policy is not only for the international F1 Powerboat Lake Toba 2024 event which took place on March 2-3, but for the future to boost the tourism industry.
