Prabowo Confirms Indonesia's Decision to Join New Development Bank

Jakarta, VIVA – Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto has announced that Indonesia has agreed to join the New Development Bank (NDB).
He said that this decision as a strong boost to accelerate the country's economic transformation strategy.
The head of state made this statement after meeting with NDB President Dilma Vana Rousseff at the Merdeka Palace on Tuesday (March 25).
"I have decided to join the New Development Bank and follow the procedures and requirements that have been set for us," the head of state said after meeting with NDB President Dilma Vana Rousseff at the Merdeka Palace on Tuesday (March 25).

He added: "I also mentioned that your team and the Indonesian team have discussed your invitation for Indonesia to become a member of the New Development Bank. After careful review by the Minister of Finance and our discussions, we have made this decision."
President Prabowo also expressed his gratitude to the NDB for inviting Indonesia to join. The head of state said that the meeting covered long-term, medium-term, and short-term plans, as well as the Indonesian government's programs and the experiences of NDB member countries.
"Thank you very much for inviting us to join NDB. I believe NDB can be a strong booster to accelerate our transformation strategy," he remarked.
At the same event, Rousseff welcomed Indonesia's decision to join NDB. She emphasized that Indonesia is one of NDB’s priority countries due to its vital role in the region.
"Indonesia’s membership in NDB is crucial because Indonesia is an alliance in BRICS," Rousseff said.
