Jerusalem – Last week, Israeli media reported that Argentine President Javier Milei promised to relocate his country's embassy from Tel Aviv to Al-Quds, Jerusalem.

Upon arrival in the occupied territory for his first official visit to Palestine since taking office in December, he was welcomed by Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz at Ben Gurion airport.

According to the Israeli Foreign Ministry, President Milei stated his intention to move the embassy to Jerusalem.

"It's not surprising that you chose to come to Israel immediately to support us in the fair struggle to defend the Jewish people against Hamas," Katz told Milei, as reported from Jordan News.

"I congratulate my friend, Argentine President Javier Milei, on the decision to move the embassy to Jerusalem," said Israeli Police Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir on X.

Israeli media also reported that Argentine President Javier Milei called for the destruction of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, citing "to bring the Messiah,"

A circulating video showed Javier Milei calling for the rebuilding of the Third Temple of the Jews during his visit to Jerusalem.

The process of building the Third Temple of the Jews is reported to imply the demolition of the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

This caused a stir on social media, with many criticisms coming from the public, saying that the Al-Aqsa Mosque is the third holiest site in Islam, after the Haram Mosque and the Nabawi Mosque, and should be protected.
