Jakarta, VIVA – The Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), Anindya Bakrie, held a coordination meeting with the Head of the National Food Agency (Bapanas), Arief Prasetyo Adi, to discuss strategies for strengthening the food sector in support of the government’s food security program.
According to Bakrie, this collaboration with Bapanas serves as a gateway to exploring various strategies that Kadin will implement to support the government’s efforts in achieving national food self-sufficiency.
Bakrie acknowledged that the discussion covered a range of topics, including government food policies, the effectiveness of business models, existing challenges, and a focus on different regions based on their agricultural potential.
“Mr. Adi explained that the government already understands its policies, business models, what works and what doesn’t, and which regions are best suited for specific initiatives. What they’re looking for now are the right entrepreneurs,” he said on Wednesday (March 5).
On the other hand, Bakrie admitted that this coordination meeting helped business players within Kadin Indonesia gain significant insights.
Initially, many were unsure how they could contribute to the government’s efforts in developing the food sector.
However, by the end of the discussion, they had a clearer understanding of the possible forms of collaboration between businesses and the government, represented by Bapanas.
“Entrepreneurs, both at the national and regional levels, are eager to play a role in supporting President Prabowo’s administration. We discussed policies, exchanged program ideas, and in the end, it became a form of matchmaking,” Bakrie stated.

Bakrie expressed his enthusiasm, emphasizing that Kadin’s goal of empowering communities within the food sector to elevate their standing received valuable guidance from the head of Bapanas.
Therefore, the Kadin chairman plans to hold a follow-up coordination meeting with Bapanas to delve deeper into food-related issues and translate discussions into tangible programs for the national food sector.
“Hopefully, in the near future, we will organize a national coordination meeting on food security within Kadin to support the government’s initiatives. Most importantly, we want to empower communities so that we can contribute to economic growth while improving their welfare,” he concluded.
