He conveyed this while speaking at the Bloomberg New Energy Forum Summit 2025, held in New York, USA, from April 29–30, 2025.

According to Bakrie, the potential for Indonesia-US collaboration is becoming increasingly promising in line with the growing global demand for critical minerals to support the energy transition.

He emphasized that this forum is an important platform for Indonesia to present its commitment and investment opportunities in the clean energy sector.

“It was quite a packed day, starting with an interaction with Michael Bloomberg — of course, the owner and chairman of Bloomberg,” he said.

In addition to meeting the leadership of the Bloomberg New Energy Forum, Bakrie also held direct discussions with BloombergNEF CEO, Jon Moore.

Following the discussion, the event continued with the Indonesia Roundtable, where many parties were eager to learn about Indonesia’s position.

“Especially in the context of a global trend pulling away from the Paris Agreement, while we remain a producer of coal and oil and gas,” Bakrie remarked.

He also stressed that Indonesia is a country deeply committed to the energy transition, while also prioritizing national interest and social sustainability.

“So hopefully, this all can promote Indonesia as a great country for investment — highly committed to energy transition, but most importantly, one that brings benefits to many people. Because the best transition is an adjusted transition,” he concluded.
