Jakarta, VIVA – Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto held a meeting with Australian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defence, Richard Marles.
The meeting focused on strategic steps to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.

“The meeting between the two leaders was held at President Prabowo’s private residence in Kertanegara, Jakarta, on Thursday (June 5), to discuss a number of strategic steps in enhancing bilateral cooperation,” said Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya in his official statement on Thursday.
Deputy PM Richard arrived at the Kertanegara residence at 5:00 PM local time and was personally welcomed by President Prabowo.
Both leaders sat side by side and engaged in a direct and open dialogue on various strategic issues of mutual concern.

“Upon arriving in Jakarta following his working visit to Bengkayang Regency, West Kalimantan, President Prabowo Subianto immediately received Deputy Prime Minister of Australia, Mr. Richard Marles,” Wijaya added.
Marles’ visit follows the recent official visit of Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese to Indonesia, reflecting the high level of bilateral engagement and the commitment of both countries to strengthening cooperation across various sectors.
Beyond strategic matters, the tone of the meeting also highlighted the warm personal rapport between the two leaders, grounded in mutual respect as equal partners in maintaining regional stability and security.
