Jakarta, VIVA – Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin Indonesia), Anindya Bakrie, affirmed that 120 Dutch companies are ready to partner with the Indonesian government and national entrepreneurs to inject approximately €300 million (IDR 56,4 billion) in investments across various sectors.

He stated that this opportunity has greatly energized Indonesia's business community, fostering eagerness to collaborate with the delegation of entrepreneurs from the Netherlands.

"There are 120 Dutch companies present here, and this has made the business community very enthusiastic," Bakrie said on Monday (June 16).

He added: "Moreover, one of their programs is a €300 million investment that will flow into various sectors, including agriculture, infrastructure, perhaps renewable energy, and more."

Bakrie acknowledged that this bold and optimistic move by the Dutch government is proof of their genuine desire to build long-term relations with Indonesia.

He considers this a very promising opportunity for Indonesia, given that the Netherlands is the second-largest trading partner for Indonesia within the European Union and the top investor among EU countries.

Furthermore, Bakrie continued, with the Indonesia-European Union Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IEU-CEPA) and Indonesia's potential accession to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), this collaboration is expected to become even more beneficial for Indonesia in the future.

"The essence of all this for Indonesia is that it will create jobs. Just like recently, we sent migrant workers, some of whom went to the Netherlands, and even more will be needed," he stated.

On the same occasion, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Indonesia, Timor Leste, and ASEAN, Marc Gerritsen, expressed honor at the enthusiasm of Indonesian companies ready to cooperate with Dutch firms.

He believes this cooperation can be realized in several sectors, such as sustainable infrastructure, renewable energy, coastal protection, food security, and others.

"And that is the core of this mission, 120 companies working together, getting to know each other, and investing in the future of Indonesia and the future of the Netherlands," he concluded.
